AMHERST, Lady SARAH ELIZABETH (1801-76)
Daughter of William Pitt Amherst, Earl Amherst of Aracan, Governor-General of India, and his first wife Sarah, widow of the 5th Earl of Plymouth. Married Sir John Hay Williams, 1842. Lady Sarah Amherst accompanied her father, the 2nd Baron (later 1st Earl) Amherst, to India when he was Governor-General from 1823 to 1828.
