Note: WD3199-3201 appear to be worked up drawings for plates in Jan Nieuhof’s ‘Gedenkwaerdige Zee-en Lant-Reize door de voornaemste Lanschappen van West en Oost Indien’, Amsterdam, 1682, prepared from Nieuhof’s own sketches. Jan Nieuhof (1618-72), Dutch traveller and artist, was in Batavia from 1667 to 1670 and died in Madagascar.
