Octavo, measuring 225 x 150 mm, modern (2000) maroon buckram binding, containing 49 albumen print stereographic doubles, mounted on light card, with letterpress descriptive text on facing pages; with original yellow part wrappers bound in. The print facing p. 39 is missing in this copy. Volume 4 comprises parts 49-64, published monthly between July 1862 and October 1863, each issue containing 3 prints and priced at 2s. 6d. The series runs to 5 volumes, ending in February 1865.
