Large quarto, measuring 383 x 300 mm, original cream buckram binding with title stamped on upper board in brown; pp. 23, with 51 woodburytype prints of exhibits, mounted on card, one to a page (recto only), with letterpress captions beneath each image. The introductory matter is by Henry Hardy Cole and lists the members of the Native Industrial Art Committee (on which he served as Honorary Secretary), followed by a report on the items exhibited and their quality. The exhibition, held at Ravenswood, the residence of the Maharaja of Faridkot, was designed to illustrate the present state of Indian arts and handicrafts, in the fields of metalwork, ivory carving, enamelwork, lacquerwork, etc., using both historical and modern examples, with a view to fostering and developing traditional skills.Another copy at shelfmark HS.74/728.
