Some of the papers were probably assembled by Oakeley's wife Mary Arnold-Forster as reference material for her book The Right Honourable Hugh Oakeley Arnold-Forster: A Memoir (1910). The collection also includes papers of Mary Arnold-Forster, and papers of other members of the family, including some relating to the estate of Hugh Oakeley Arnold-Forster.
