Origin: 15th century -1707Provenance and Acquisition
Censored by Giovanni Domenico Carretto, Italian censor (active in the first quarter of the 17th century): inscribed with his name, 1612 (?) (folio 123r).
Luigi [da Bologna]: inscribed with his name: 1600 (folio 123v); a converted Jew working for the Inquisition as censor (active at the end of the 16th-beginning of 17th century), see [Popper_1969] 104.
Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 284; his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see [Paisey_1997] 131-153: inscribed, back flyleaf (i)v.
