An inscription on an oaken board.

ff. 1r-1vTitle: KetovetTitle: כתובתAn oaken board, once fixed over the doorway of ancient disused synagogue in Old Cairo, and brought to England in 1897. The inscription contains parts of Deuteronomy 6:5 and Psalms 5:8, and mentions the name of the synagogue benefactor, Obadiah ben Japheth Abul Ma῾ali.
There is also a small fragment of a board with some letters in relief, illegible (fixed on to the end of the board).
