Origin: 12th-13th century ; France?Provenance and Acquisition
Adam Clarke (b. 1762, d. 1832), Wesleyan Methodist minister and scholar. His bookplate with Greek inscription: ho theos agape estin on front flyleaf (ii)v. This codex, together with nine other manuscripts (Add MS 9398-9407) was acquired by the British Museum in 1834, once the property of the Hagen family and then bought for Adam Clarke.
