- Title:
- Lady Maclay's [Macleay's] Xmas partie [sic], British Legation, Peking, 1923
- Scope & Content:
- Print (measuring 156 mm x 203 mm) on card mount, showing a couple identified as Sir Donald and Lady Maclay standing beside a figure dressed as Father Christmas and seated on a Bactrian camel, in front of Legation buildings at Peking. The 'Sir Donald Maclay' identified beneath the print must presumably be Sir James William Ronald Macleay, British Envoy in Peking from 1922-26. On the reverse of the mount are 8 smaller snapshot views of Peking (Coal Hill, Imperial City, Pai Hai) and two portraits of a European woman in Greek dress (dated 17 Feb 1924).
