Format: Vol. 1: 34 folios, vol.2: 32 folios. Text in 10 vertical lines per page, average 15 syllables per line.
Material: Ink on paper.
Script: Text in Hangŭl.
Dimensions: 273 x 183 mm.
Binding: On double leaves in Korean side-stitched binding style (5 holes). Patterned yellow paper covers. Cropped handwritten inscriptions including the date Ŭlch’uk 乙丑 [1865] on rear covers of both volumes indicate they were originally used on other, larger books. Front cover of vol.1 has been repaired with a paper strip.
Associated material: Handrwitten English notes about the manuscript written on reverse of an envelope addressed to Webster A Melcher, 401 State Road, Cynwyd, Pennsylvania postmarked 4 Dec 1917.
