Support: Paper with chain and laid lines; watermarks (partially visible): coat of arms with three crescents in the upper register and a crown on top; name: ALVIVO(?), medallion with a lying deer (?) and name underneath: C.A. Bervini(?).
Extent: 76 folios (i+76+i)
Dimensions (leaf): 220 × 160 mm.
Foliation:

Foliation in Arabic numerals. Originally 88 folios, then at refoliation the blank leaves were left out (between fols. 50-51, 54-55, 63-64, 72-73, 74-75).

Collation

Leaves on guards (two leaves pasted to one guard).

Condition

Leaves patched.

Stains, slight iron gall ink damage on fols. 64-72.

Provenance and Acquisition

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 772: inscribed with his name (folios 1r, 76v); purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924: inscribed (back flyleaf verso).
