- Scope & Content:
- Album of the type known in Japanese as Kirechō 裂帖 containing 472 pieces of textiles (mainly Japanese but with a few Chinese examples) arranged on 77 leaves. Album has worn brocade covers and brass corner pieces.
No text and no indication of former owners but probably assembled by a collector in late 19th century although fragments are older. The textiles show exquisite designs and are of very high quality.
