A folio volume of ‘Antiquitates Asiaticae’ by Edmund Chishull, a study of inscriptions. This copy was made in 1736 under the direction of Professor John Ward.
Prefixed to this volume are:
1. A letter from Samuel Lisle on the Statue of Livia in the habit of Ceres. Dated Wadham College 1 April 1741
2. Copies of two Latin Inscriptions at Buda and Semendria
3. Copy of a Greek Inscription discovered in the Island of Tasso, on the coast of Romania, {Island of Thasos?} in the possession of Joseph Ames, 1739
4. Three Latin Inscriptions found at the house of Count Engilhart, Commandant of Orsova.
The volume itself embraces:
1. An Index of the places where the Inscriptions were found
2. The sheets of the second part of Edmund Chishull’s work so far as printed
3. The collection of Inscriptions, occupying 231 folios and embracing the whole of those contained in Chishull’s 4 manuscripts marked 1, 2, 3, 4, and those collected by William Sherard.
