Provenance and Acquisition

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1067: inscribed with his name (fol. 1r); purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924.

Foliation in Arabic numerals. Every fifth folio has an additional foliation in the upper left corner with black ink in very small numerals.

7 quires: i-iii8, iv10, v-vi8, vii10.

No catchwords, but the last word(s) of a quire is repeated at the beginning of the following quire.

Condition

Fol. 1r is hardly legible and has remains of a stamp.

Water damage (especially fols. 1-8).
