Collation
19 quires: i-xviii10, xix8 (last quire included 2 unfoliated blank leaves at the end)
Catchword on every verso; signatures in Samaritan characters as well as in Eastern Arabic numerals. The first quire is numbered as 91 and the last is 109 indicating that the work was part of a series written for the annual liturgical cycle.

Usage stains.
ff. 78-82 are patched.

Ruling is done with stylus for the frame and the central columns.
Catchwords are diagonal.
Written in black ink; from fol. 168r: black and red ink are both used.
Hand(s)
Samaritan minuscule script and Arabic script of the 18th century. The scribes were Salama b. Jacob . Murjan b. Ibrahim and Netanel b. Abd Yahweh b. Abd Zehuta. Changes in scribalpractice towards the end of the MS suggest that there may have been a third, unnamed scribed.

Additions:Binding
Islamic leather flap binding, blind-tooled; recased and restored with most of the original cover saved but with a new spine (boxed). On the front cover, Judeo-Arabic note about the content of the MS.
Spine: 'Services for the Day of Atonement. Samaritan. Brit. Mus. Additional MS. 19651.'
In the digital surrogate the front binding with the flap is called back flyleaf (iv)r, the back binding with the flap tucked in is called back flyleaf (iv)v, and the fore edge is called back flyleaf (v)r.

James Finn (1806–1872), an Arabic and Hebrew scholar, consul at Jerusalem: inscribed on back flyleaf (iii)v: 'Purchased of J. Finn Esq. Consul at Jerusalem in Nov. 1852 but not received till 1 Nov. 1853. [JM]'.
