The commentary starts with Chapter 5 of Sefer madaʿ. Beginning and end are incomplete.

Composed between 1720 and 1723.

Colophon: Colophons of the author at the end of the sections: fols. 29v, 60v, 107v, 227v. These colophons do not mention the name of the author, only the date of completion of the different sections.

Foliation in Arabic numerals in the upper outer corner of each recto, and in the lower outer corner (the latter is cancelled). Parallel Hebrew foliation beginning with fol. ה, that suggests that 4 leaves are missing from the beginning of the codex.

Condition

Slight water damage, usage stains.

Worm damage which later have been patched in some places.

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 24; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924: inscribed on back flyleaf (i)v; date of accession: 7 July 1927: inscribed on fol. 267v.
