Foliation in Arabic numerals in pencil. Hebrew foliation in ink in the lower right corner of the verso sides upside down (thus currently running from left to right, starting on fol. 23v= fol. יא).

Catchword on every page.

Condition

Usage stains, water damage, smudged ink.

The leaf after fol. 23 was cut off, and only a fragment of it is visible.

Uniform layout.

Full-page inscription at the end of Book 1 and Book 2: "נשלם החלק הראשון" and " משלם החלק השני - ר"ת תם ונשלם שבח לאל בורא עולם".

A few marginal notes.

Inscription upside down on back cover ("Joma 3") and the Hebrew foliation running upside down suggests that the booklet was originally prepared to be used for something else.

Provenance and Acquisition

Notes on fol. 1r in Italian and in English: "questo libro e dell' sig. [Manouel] [...] e ge[..] scrito di sopra di תריג מצות che [...] sei sente è tridas" (written by the scribe?); "copy made from very old MSS."

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 45: inscribed with his name on fol. 1r; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 15 July 1927: inscribed on fol. 23v.
