Foliation in Arabic numerals.

Parallel Hebrew foliation which shows that a significant amount of the MS is missing: fol. 1 is fol. 48 (fol. מח). Re missing material see also table of contents on fols. 22-24.

Collation

Indeterminable, has been rebound.

Condition

Damaged leaves, sometimes patched. First and last folios are espcially fragile.

Usage stains, slight iron gall ink corrosion.

Left margins are not even.

Very narrow margins left.

Section headings are often in larger, square script.

Provenance and Acquisition

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 475: inscribed with his name on fols. 1r, 24v; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 1 August 1928: inscribed on back flyleaf (i)r.
