Materials: Palm leaf, lacquered and gilt, 8 lines per side. between a pair of black lacquered palm leaves, and a single binding board, gilt and lacquered, with birds in 5 roundels. Binder or ribbon, size 3900 mm x 20 mm, with Burmese inscription, made from hand-spun and hand-dyed cotton yarn, the text in natural cream-white to fawn-brown colour and stripe ornaments on a solid redbackground, with white edge. No intact loop. The binder or ribbon is commonlyknown as Sazigyo; it is woven on a backstrap loom and originally used to secure palm leaf manuscripts. Usually givento monasteries as a meritorious offering.
