Usage stains, smudged ink, water damage.

Slight iron gall ink corrosion towards the end.

Section headings are written in larger, square characters.

A few marginal notes, especially in the commentary on the liturgical poems.

Italian Hebrew semi-cursive and square script of the 16th century.

Scribbles and doodles by a different hand on fols. 17r, 18r, 48r, 49v, and front flyleaf (ii). Traces of scribbles by the same hand are visible in some other leaves (e.g. fol. 2r).

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 415: inscribed with his name on fols. 1r, 18r, 47v; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924: inscribed on back flyleaf (i)v; date of accession 26 March 1928: inscribed on fol. 49v.
