Black cloth binding with red leather strap.

Provenance and Acquisition

Seal on fol. 1r is accompanied with a note in Samaritan (upside down): "I gave this book to my master, Dr Gaster, as my obligation to him, and I am Amram b. Isaac, the Priest."

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 815; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924.
