Origin: 1700-1799 18th century Italy?Provenance and Acquisition
Names on f. 30r: 'Raffael Levi', 'Zacaria Vitale', 'Reuben Vitale', 'Buonaiut Pugliesi' and, upside down, 'Levi Deveale'.
Fol. 54r: stamp: coats of arms of the Kingdom of Sardinia and the House of Savoy, and the inscription: "Gabel. Gener. Denari tre". Next to stamp, there is a signature: "Benedetto Carmi di Corte Maggiore"; the same stamp on fol. 54v.
Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1016; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 8 October 1931.
