The name of the owner, who was also probably the scribe is given as Yitsḥaḳ ben Saʿadia Tibon, dated 5539 (f. 1v).

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 743: inscribed with his name on ff. 23v and 24r; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 3 December 1929.
