Hair side and flesh side of folios distinguishable.
Visible complete ruling by hard-point, bifolium by bifolium (on hair side).
Graphic fillers at the end of line, last written line within ruling. Truncated mem.
The first word of each book is written in large ornamental letter, with addition of a pen and ink design in Kings.
Omitted words are supplied and faulty readings are corrected in the margin.
The beginning and the end of Haftarot are marked in the margin by a later hand.
Fine Italian parchment, ruled on the hair-side with a hard point. No pricking is visible due to trimmed margins.
Gilt edges.
Hand(s)
Ashkenazi square script of the 13th century (at variance with production area). Finished and punctuated by a different hand than the first books in the manuscript. Binyamin ben Yoʾav min ha-῾Anaṿim: inscribed with his name in the colophon, folio 315r.

Origin: 1293 ItalyProvenance and Acquisition
Yitsḥaḳ Ḥazan of Furmicino and Shelomoh Yoshuʿa of Modena: inscribed in a contract of sale on folio 317v, with a date of 23 Tamuz 5355 (30 June 1595), at Ferrara.
Yeḥi᾿el Petaḥyah and Barukh ben Petaḥyah: inscribed several times on the flyleaves.
Luge Navaro, son of Eliezer Navaro de Ferrara: inscribed on folio 316v.
Luigi da Bologna, a converted Jew working for the Inquisition (active 1590-1609): inscribed with his name as censor, with a date of 1599, folio 315r, see [Popper_1969] 104.

Purchased by the British Museum from Payne and Foss in 1844, folio [318v] .
