Folio 1v contains a list of Haftarot of the weekly Pentateuch sections and of the feasts and fasts; a table of certain divisions (styled אלמזאפאת) of the Prophets, Proverbs, Job, Psalms, Daniel and Ezra - the same divisions are indicated by the rubric מזאפא in the margin of the biblical text. This list, written with a later Greek hand, was printed in vol. 2 of [Ginsburg_1880] 474-475.

Vellum codex written in square Ashkenazi script, punctuated and accentuated.

508 folios (+ 2 unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning and 2 unfoliated paper flyleaves and a parchment flyleaf at the end).

Original Hebrew foliation not visible. Quires are marked by catchwords at the end, the mark בי being written in the upper right-hand corner at the beginning of the quires.

Collation

65 quires, mostly of 8 leaves each, marked by catchwords at the end. Several quires are missing after folio 436 (parts of Job, Proverbs and all the Five Scrolls).

Pricking and ruling visible. Ruled with a pencil (both main text and masoretic notes).

Leviticus, Joshua, Kings and Isaiah begin a new leaf, and Psalms open a new page.

Beginning of a weekly section marked by the word סדר in the margin. The sign פפ stands between the sections.

Beginning and end of the Torah lessons for feasts and fasts marked in red (folio 14r, 45v, 46v).

Masorah magna is written in two lines in the upper margin and in three lines in the lower margin.

Hand(s)

Ashkenazi square script for the main text and semi-cursive for masorah. One folio with masoretic lists written with a Greek hand (Syracuse).
