Origin: 1700-1799 18th century ItalyProvenance and Acquisition
Three sheḥitah certificates, on behalf of Yehuda Ḥayim of Citadella, dated 1757, given by Mordekhai ben Shim᾿on Ḥayim of Verona, Menaḥem ben Yitshaḳ of Verona, Ya᾿aḳov ben Yitsḥaḳ ben Menaḥem of Modena and Avraham Yisrael of Padua.
Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 255: his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & Co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see [Paisey_1997] 131-153: inscribed, back flyleaf (i)v.
