The vellum leaf at the end contains a fragment of a Latin grammar and a fragment of a poem on moral conduct.
History
Origin: 1400-1499 15th century Germany?Provenance and Acquisition
Folio 1r contains part of a Latin document (in Italian handwriting) recording an award given by arbitrators in a dispute between Peter and John de Cumis (de Cumae in Italy?) on the one part, and Marinus Georgius Simon on the other (concerning a glass furnace): dated 11 March1456.
Folio 2r contains a record of sale of this manuscript from Menahem ben Kuzi and Yosef Kalonymus Kohen, of מונטייאנ' (Montagnana?).
Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 1: his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & Co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see Paisey, D., 'Adolphus Asher (1800-1853): Berlin bookseller, Anglophile, and friend to Panizzi' British Library Journal 12 (1997), pp. 131-153): inscribed (folio [332v]).
