Fred Andrews Collection: Negatives and prints. Photographers: Fred Andrews, Aurel Stein

Scope & Content:

A collection of glass and film negatives with selected contact prints, the majority by Frederick Henry Andrews, but including photographs by his friend and colleague, the archaeologist and explorer Sir Marc Aurel Stein. The collection was originally the property of Fred Andrews, who bequeathed it to his friend, a Mr Wilmoth, who later passed it (in 1961) to the vendor James Hurley. The material comprises:

Neg 1321/1. 168 '0' prefix glass negatives by Fred Andrews, mainly of Lahore and Kashmir, 1910-20s. Numerical references run from 071A-0805 (with gaps).

Photo 1321/1 41 contact prints made from selected negatives in Neg 1321/1.

Neg 1321/2 58 glass negatives, no prefix, mainly of Lahore and Kashmir, by Fred Andrews, 1910s-20s. Numerical references run from 384-914 (with gaps).
