A short introduction is given on folio 2v.
In a note on folio 3v, the date of composition is given as 5351 (1591).

Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), Italian bibliophile: his manuscript no. 156: inscribed, back flyleaf (ii)v; 322 Hebrew manuscripts were acquired from his library in October 1865 through Adolphus Asher (b. 1800, d. 1853), Berlin bookseller and dealer to the British Museum 1841-1853.
