Many notes added by a later hand, with additions, explanations and corrections.
Filiation: Cf. contents of [BL] Add MS 16406 (Margoliouth, no. 341).ff. 275v-409vTitle: Midrash Va-yiḳra᾿ rabahDifferent chapters are marked but not numbered, with the exception folio 380v.
Several chapters are much shorter than in printed editions.
On folios 387v and 388r several terms are omitted, blanks having been left in their places.
The additions to the first three chapters, published in the Midrash Rabah printed editions, are not contained in this manuscript.

Folio 1r contains a list of works which had belonged to an early owner, this manuscript being included.
Mosheh ben Mordekhai ha-Rofe᾿ de Palazzo: inscribed with his name, folio 1r.
Eliyah Camerini: inscribed, folio 1r.
Camillo Jaghel: inscribed with his name, 1619 (folio 409v).
Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 279: inscribed, back flyleaf (ii)v; his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & Co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see [Paisey_1997] 131-153).
