Support: Paper with laid lines and chain lines; unidentified object in a circle (e.g. ff. 11-12), with two letters and a shamrock and a cresent in between (e.g. f. 9).
Extent: 172 folios (ii+172+iii)
Dimensions (leaf): 191 × 145 mm.
Dimensions (written): 155 × 115 mm.
Foliation:

Foliation in Arabic numerals in pencil.

Parallel Hebrew foliation in ink. First visible foliation is on f. 5 = f. יז (upper margin of previous leaves is damaged). Thus current f. 1 would be f. יג, that is at least 12 leaves are missing from the beginning. Hebrew foliation restarts on f. 70 = f. ב.

Ff. 43v, 69v, 104v, and 167v are blank.

Collation

Leaves on guards.

No catchwords.

Condition

Water damage, usage stains.

Ff. 1 and 127 are damaged.

Numerous leaves have been fixed (silk gauze).

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 224: inscribed with his name on ff. 1r, 69r, 103v; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 9 February 1928.
