The Psalms are provided (up to Ps. 72)with special directions in Hebrew by a later hand, indicating their practical use for obtaining special favours or warding off certain calamities, with a heading 'Shemot Tehilim.'

Collation
Originally upwards of 14 quires mostly of 10 leaves each, but quires 2-14 are not preserved.
The quires are marked with catchwords on the last page.
Condition
Several larger lacunas. Some leaves are imperfectly preserved.

The Psalms are divided into 5 parts.
The sedarim are marked in the margins, with a simple pen and ink design.
Occasional masoretic notes are preserved in the margins.
Hand(s)
Yemenite (showing similarity to Persian) square script, punctuated, of the 14th century.
f. 1v, 113r due to later hands, of approxiamtely 17th century. Psalms are also numbered by a later hand.
f. 108r a midrashic Targum on Song of Songs 1:1 is provided by a later hand.

Origin: 1300-1399 14th century YemenProvenance and Acquisition
Yosef ben Seʿadyah ben Shalom, inscribed with his name with no date, folio 115r.
Moses Wilhelm Shapira (b. 1830, d. 1884), a antiquities dealer of Jerusalem: purchased by the British Library from him on 24 November 1877: inscribed, back flyleaf (i)v. Folio 1* supplied by him on 11 May 1879.
