The Hebrew text is written in large Arabic characters, and is provided with the Hebrew vowel-points in red ink.

Both the translation and the portions of the commentary are marked in the margins in Arabic.

The method of transcribing the Hebrew text into Arabic characters is largely phonetic.

Moses Wilhelm Shapira (b. 1830, d. 1884), an antiquities dealer of Jerusalem: purchased by the British Library from him on 08 July 1882: inscribed, back flyleaf (i)v.
