A letter inserted into onto the back pastedown: '4 Heywood Street Cheetham Manchester 10/11/10. Dear Rev+Sir, Many thanks for your letter [...]. And to day I have much pleasure in sending you another book "Pesah" which I hope will be useful for your library. In this book, you will [...] there is in small writing the name of my grandfather "Vita Acco" (my mother's father) who was a Hazan for many yers in Corfu. The writing at the end of the end of [sic!] the book is mine, I was about 14 years of age when I was trying to complete it. I conclude with asking you to accept this book also as a זכרון מזכרת אהבה from your humble servant: Samuel Levy.

Ownership inscriptions on front flyleaf (i)v: 'Il libro di Vita Acco Corfu'; 'ספר חזניות ש" ב" אליהו הלוי' (upside down, probably written by the grandson of Vita Acco).
Samuel Levy gave the MS to Moses Gaster as a gift (see letter attached to the end of the MS).
Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 1412; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 10 February 1932.
