Ff. 31-38 has another foliation in Arabic numerals in pencil upside down in the lower corner. Most probably an erroneous foliation before the volume got rebound.

F. 56v is blank.

6 quires of 10 leaves. Quire i includes front flyleaf (ii); quire vi includes back flyleaves (i)-(iii).

Catchword on every verso.

Iron gall ink corrosion; some leaves were repaired (ff. 33-36).

Binding

Oriental flap-binding, brown leather, blind-tooled. Boxed.

Title on spine: 'Ordo Precum Pro Festo Tabernacor. Brit. Mus. Jure Empt. 19,018.'

In the digital surrogate the front binding board with the flap open is called back flyleaf (v)r; the back binding board with flap extended is called back flyleaf (v)v; and the fore edge is called back flyleaf (vi)r.

History

Origin: 1763-1764 According to Crown it is dated to 1783 according to a note on f. 53r, but which note is not to be found) West Bank (Shechem)

Provenance and Acquisition

James Finn (1806–1872), an Arabic and Hebrew scholar, consul at Jerusalem: inscribed on back flyleaf (ii)v: 'Purchased of John (sic!) Finn Esq. Consul at Jerusalem Sept 1852'.
