M. Gaster's note on f. 1r: "No 456 M. Gaster - written by M. Jacob Hai Almuli originary(!) from Spalato who held a private school in Bucharest & died in Jerusalem about 50 years ago at the age of 78. Sold by his grandson, now shamash of the Spanish&Portug. Congregation in Bucharest Menahem David Almuli. - (also a grand nephew of Rev. Morenu David Parvo ha-mequbal. - - M. G. Bucharest July 902/62"
