Ownership inscriptions in Portuguese and Hebrew in ink and pencil on front pastedown: 'Abram Bensabat 1839, Moses Bensabat, Alia Bensabat ... Maria Luisa ... '; '1845'; דאנדו אנה כארתא פארא תו לבארים דא 1839 '.
Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 796; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; 13 March 1935.
