Catchword at the end of quires; signatures in Arabic numerals in ink in the outer lower corner at the beginning of each quire.
Condition
Usage stains, water damage (esp. f. 1r), worm damage.
Some of the marginal notes have been erased (ff. 63r, 77r, 78v).
Fingerprint on f. 65r.

Blessing at the end (f. 79r) is included into a decorative circle.

Binding
BM in-house binding, half-bound. A fragment from the original binding is stuck onto the back pastedown. It is the coat of arms of Jacques Nicolas Colbert, the Archbishop of Rouen (1654-1707), and the original binding must have been similar to that of [BL] Or 11792 and [BL] Or 11793. Boxed.
Title on spine: 'Ḥōbhōth hal-lebhābhōth. Baḥya ibn Bāḳōdāh. Hebrew. Brit. Mus. Oriental 11,794.'

According to the Catalogue of Hebrew Manuscripts in the Gaster Collection, it was acquired by gift from the Inter-Allied Book-Centre, April, 1946; date of accession 31 July 1946: inscribed by J. Leeven on back flyleaf (i)r.
