Containing the story of Joseph and the wife of Potiphar, this section is based on Parashat Va-yeshev, and can often be found copied separately in Judeo-Persian manuscripts bearing the title Yūsuf o Zulaykhā, the title of Muslim epics on this theme.

This epic is frequently referred to as Sefer Sharḥ-i Shālīn ʿal ha-Torah, a title bestowed upon it by Shimon Ḥakham, who prepared a critical edition of the work published in Jerusalem, 1902-1905.

The colophon on f. 108r says that it was copied by Bābāī ben ha-Mullā Raḥamim ... Lārī, on 7 Tevet 5672 (1912).
