Language(s): Persian and ArabicCommentary on the Nuzhat al-Arvāḥof Rukn al-Dīn Ḥusayn ibn ʿĀlim ibn Abū al-Ḥasan al-Ḥusaynī al-Ghūrī known as Mīr Fakhr al-Sādāt al-Ḥusaynī(d. circa 720/1320), a well-known compendium on Sufism in refined prose and verse, by ʿAbd al-Vāḥid ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Khaṭīb al-Ḥusaynī al-Bilgrāmī "Shāhidī"(d. 1017/1608).
According to a concluding chronogrammatic poem not included here (see Delhi Persian 1056B), the commentary was completed in 985/1577-8.
Dated colophon (f. 333r): completed at the rawz̤ah (tomb) of Maḥmūd Ghaznavī( Ghazni, Afghanistan), 1106/1694-5.
Neat and disciplined scribal nastaʿlīq with rubricated headings in naskh.
Annotations and corrections in margins.
Later binding (detached boards covered in combed marbled papers edged with reddish leather; spine missing), gathering and end bands intact.
Wormholes throughout with old repair patches.
Fragile.
