Language(s): Persian and ArabicLengthy and detailed, though untitled, commentary by the great philologist, poet and prose stylist, Sirāj al-Dīn ʿAlī Khān “Ārzū” (d. 1169/1756) on the Iskandar'nāmah mas̲navī (comprised of the Sharaf'nāmah and Khirad'nāmah) from the Khamsah by Ḥakīm Abū Muḥammad Ilyās Ganjavī "Niẓāmī" (d. 614/1217).
The work is endorsed by a later hand (f. 1r) as the Sharḥ-i Sikandar'nāmah by Khān-i Ārzū.
Dated colophon (f. 306r): completed at Ḥiṣār Fīrūzah (Hisar, Haryana), 4 Rajab 1252/15 October 1836.
Swiftly transcribed in a small shikastah āmīz hand.
Pencil foliation.
Damaged red leather binding.
Fragile.
