Twelve items, originals and copies, relating to Richard Twining (1749-1824), London tea and coffee merchant, his sons Richard (1772-1857) and Thomas (1776-1861) Twinning, and also Thomas Twining (1734-1804), classical scholar and translator. Likely gathered and created by Richard Twining (1807-1906), editor of Selections from the Papers of the Twining Family, (London: John Murray, 1887).
- Letter from Reverend Thomas Twining to Mr Thomas Twining, regarding his will and appointing the latter as executor. Wrapped in a single folio, docketed '1717, from Rev Thos Twining, Wilts to Mr Thos Twining of the Golden Lion, in Devereux Court near the Temple'.
- Letter from Daniel Twining to his brother Richard [Senior], dated Norwich 25 Aug 1784, regarding a gift, and the quality of his handwriting.
- Folio containing excerpts from three letters from Richard Twining to his brother Reverend Thomas Twining, dated 9 Jul 1781, 1 Apr1789, and 18 Nov 1819.
- Letter from Richard Twining [Senior] to his son Richard, dated 25 Sep 1816, containing a poem, beginning "Your Willing Fish / Proved an excellent Dish...", plus autograph note on verso by Richard's sister re: her father's singing.
- Receipt received from Simon Schram, for thirty one pounds ten shillings paid by Richard Twining for a violoncello, case and bow. Dated 4 Jun 1824.
- Letter from Thomas Twining to his brother Richard, dated Spring Grove, 27 Jan 1827, regarding a visit from his sons Aldred and William.
- Notes, docketed 'TT's remarks upon some remarks of AT upon Mr Harris', regarding sensation, the source of ideas, and the nature of art.
- Note of thanks sent by Thomas Twining to Richard, dated 23 Jun 1837.
