The manuscript was in Gaza, since it was written for a resident of Egypt (by which name both Gaza and Cairo could be designated), and was one of those taken thence in 1767 by the priest, Tabya.' Hand(s)
Samaritan majuscule script of the 16th century. Scribe was Hassebhi ben Joseph ben Abraham, according to the main tashkil (acrostic writing) on ff. 183v-190r. The restoration was done in Safar 1284 AH (1867) by the priests, Amram ben Salama and Jacob ben Aaron.

Additions:Ff. 1-5, 150 and 215-219 are paper leaves supplied later to complete the text.

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 800; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 13 March 1930.
