- A bound volume of around 20 works followed by single pages and fragments of larger works and some Fāwāʾid and ritual practices, bought from Sir Henry Rawlinson in 1895 and probably bound shortly after acquisition. Complete works mainly on fiqh, tawḥīd, hadith and Sufism, with several works by Muḥammad al-Sanūsī. Judging by the names of the copyists and owners, these texts were copied by Jakhanke scholars in the Senegambian region and especially the Suwaré family. This volume bears strong similarities to Or 6953.

Usage Statement: The West African manuscripts published in digitised format by the British Library are to the best of our knowledge not in copyright under the law of their countries of origin. While it is not possible to be certain about the origin of all the manuscripts, our research suggests that they come from Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal and/or The Gambia.
The British Library recognises broader interests in the cultural heritage which the West African manuscripts represent.
