(1). 'Badinage' (f. 1r). Undated autograph working draft, in black ink, titled 'Drei gespräche / Dance'. Title 'Badinage' added in pencil in another hand. For piano, in D flat major. Notated on eight systems of two staves each. Incomplete, lacking the ending: 48 bars. (See Robert Threlfall, IX/4.). Date: probably early 1890s. For a manuscript of 'Badinage' in the hand of an unknown copyist (with title in the hand of Jelka Delius), see MS Mus. 1745/1/35, ff. 15-16v. For the autograph draft score, see MS Mus. 1745/2/5, ff. 5-7.
(2). 'Vasantasena' (f. 1v). Undated autograph working draft, in black ink. For [solo violin] and piano, in E flat minor. Notated on seven systems of three staves each: 41 bars. Date: probably early 1890s. (Not recorded in Threlfall.)
(3). 'Mazurka' (ff. 2-5). Undated and incomplete pencil draft of a full score, lacking the ending. Signed in pencil on the title-page (f. 2). For orchestra, in C minor. Notated on two bifolia (22 staves): 55 bars. Date: early 1890s. Not recorded by either Threlfall or Rachel Lowe. However, the draft appears to complement the fragment of a draft full score in the Sir Thomas Beecham Accession to the Delius Trust, MS Mus. 1745/2/10, ff. 42-43 (i.e. the last four pages of a pencil draft full score of an orchestral work not otherwise identified: 1 bifolium, also 22-stave and also 353 x 270 mm).
(4). 'La Ballade du Musicien' (ff. 6-7). Printer's manuscript in copyist's hand in black ink (with plate mark 'FD' at the foot of f. 6). Some printer's annotations in pencil. Words (after Henrik Ibsen) in French with words in German in Delius's hand written beneath throughout. 1 bifolium (350 x 270 mm). For voice and piano, published in 5 Chansons (1896). See Threlfall, V/9, no. 5.
(5). 'A Song of the High Hills' (ff. 8-9). Autograph sketch strip (90 x 350 mm, cut from larger bifolium), including a clear draft of the middle section (between Figs 17 and 18 of the full score) and early versions of music found at Figs 15, 38, and other sections. Short score notated in pencil, two systems per page. Inscribed in blue ink at the head of f. 8 by Eric Denby: 'A sketch strip of "The Song of the High Hills" carried by Delius on his walking tours in Norway - Eric Fenby to Franz Holford, 1948'.
(6). 'La Lune blanche' (ff. 10-11). Autograph manuscript (1 bifolium, 350 x 270 mm). In black ink, signed f. 10. French words by Paul Verlaine, for voice and piano. Stichvorlage: includes title and words in German throughout in the hand of the publisher (Tischer). Composed by Delius in August 1910. (See Threlfall V/26.)
