ff. 1r-197vTitle: השעריםTitle: ha-SheʿarimTwo chapters of Shemonah Sheʿarim, a compilation by Samuel Vital from the writings of his father, Ḥayyim Vital, which latter are themselves derived from the oral teachings of Isaac Luria.
According to the author's colophons on ff. 84r and 191v, Vital composed this work in Damascus in 5413 (1652/3).
Scribal colophon f. 84r mentions two scribes: Menahem Crispin, who copied the work in Jerusalem in 5529 (1768/9), and Joseph Mizrahi (the scribe who wrote the colophon), who copied the work in Istambul in 5566 (1805/6). The reference to the first copist, Menahem refers to the manuscript from which this one was copied by Joseph.
