Water damage, usage stains.

Circular bits have been cut off some of the parchment leaves ff. 6-7, 22; lower margin of f. 65 has been cut off.

Provenance and Acquisition

A note in Gaster's catalogue (Gaster's Handlist) states that the manuscript came 'from Geniza Aleppo'.

Moses Gaster (b. 1856, d. 1939), scholar and rabbi: his manuscript, Cod. G. 986; purchased by the British Museum from him on 12 April, 1924; date of accession 13 April 1931.
