ff. 1r-450rTitle: תורה שומרוניתTitle: Torah ShomronitThe manuscript has undergone several restorations by the Samaritans and perhaps one after acquisition by the BM. Ff. 7-36 and 96 were restored in the late 18th-early 19th century. Ff. 47, 56, 67-69 and 265-268 are in a 19th century hand; ff. 238-264 are in an 18th century hand.
At the end of Deuteronomy a colophon in Arabic followed by two lines of Samaritan Hebrew gives the name of Shelaby b. Jacob, the Samaritan of Shechem, and dates 1801.
The beginnings of Genesis and Exodus are missing, i.e. Gen 1:1-14 and Exodus 1:1-17.

Two deeds of sale at the end of Exodus (f. 124r). The first records the purchase of the manuscript in 924 AH (1518 CE); the second records the purchase of the manuscript in 939 AH (1532/3 CE).
Undated deed of sale at the end of Leviticus (f. 161v).
Acquisition note on back flyleaf (ii)v: 'Bought of Yaʿḳub ash-Shalabī, 9 Nov. 1883'; date of accession July 1884.
