Summary of Contents: Miscellaneous collection of works Persian and Arabic vocabulary. Volume not dated; items a and b dated (ranging 1-3 Ramaz̤ān 1251/21-23 December 1835), completed in Shāhjahānābād Delhi. Shikastah āmīz written in black ink, as well as European blue and brown inks. Annotations in margins. Stamped and Persian foliation. Lacking original binding. Binding damaged (combed marble paper with brown leather edging over delaminating and crumbling pasteboards), labels. Folios mostly bound; cropped, creases, stains, wormholes, later repairs. Condition fragile.Language(s): Persian and Arabic

Fragment of an untitled Persian commentary correcting and elaborating on points of difficulty in the famous versified Arabic-Persian vocabulary, the Niṣāb al-ṣibyānof Badr al-Dīn Abū Naṣr Farāhī, composed by the later poet Muḥammad Karīm ibn Faṣīḥ al-Dīn al-Dasht Bayāz̤ī (fl. 16th cent.) at the suggestion of his master and father.
Dated colophon (f. 107v): completed by Muḥammad Jalāl al-Dīn Ḥusayn ibn Sayyid Niẓām al-Dīn Aḥmad ibn Khvājah Ḥusayn ṣāḥib Mawdūdī, in the environs of Shāhjahānābād Dihlī, in the reign of Emperor Akbar Shāh II, 1 Ramaz̤ān 1251/21 December 1835.
An additional inscription states the owner is Mawlavī Fakhr al-Dīn Ḥusayn, native of India, copied by the hand of Muḥammad Sharīf.
At another point in the work covered with ṣaḥīḥ al-bayāz̤ (folio 75v), another scribe states his name as Muḥammad Muʿīn al-Dīn Amjad known as Khvājah Muḥammad Bashīr.
Flyleaves preceding the work contain several interesting features, 1) Persian mas̲navī, 2) memorandum of expenditure by Fakhr al-Dīn and Nūr al-Dīn since the beginning of Ṣafar (and Ramaz̤ān), additionally listing costs for qurbānī, pairs of shoes, ʿAbdī Mawlavī, etc., 3) beginnings of draft letters.

Untitled Persian and Arabic vocabulary in mas̲navī form ascribed in the colophon to the eminent poet, Amīr Khusraw Dihlavī (d. 725/1325).
Dated colophon (f. 115r): completed by Muḥammad Jalāl al-Dīn Ḥusayn ibn Sayyid Niẓām al-Dīn Aḥmad in the city of Dihlī, 3 Ramaz̤ān 1251/23 December 1835.
The terminal flyleaf is covered with Persian and Urdu notes in a bold shikastah āmīz hand.
