Notification by King Henry I of England (r. 1100–1135) that William of Houghton, the king's chamberlain, has restored to Walter, abbot of Ramsey (1133–1160), and his successors, his manor of 'Bradenache' (most likely in Great Gidding, Huntingdonshire), with a hide at Hidding, which he held for life, in return for 100 marks of silver.
Witnessed by John, bishop of Lisieux, the bishop of Carlisle, Robert de Sigillo and others.
Issued at Falaise, [1133×1135].
A copy of this charter is found in a cartulary of Ramsey Abbey, British Library Cotton MS Vespasian E II, f. 12r. A confirmation of this act, issued by King Henry II, is British Library Add Ch 77737.
